All of our future leaders in the United States can apply to the Walter Morales Scholarship for $5,000 which will be awarded to a single university student or high school senior who plans to be enrolled in a university.
Walter has worked for many years as both a businessman and educator, and would like to give back to a current student
The Walter Morales Scholarship announces the annual award directed towards a university student or high school senior in the United States who has an interest in improving the education system in the United States, and more specifically the education system in urban areas.
In order to qualify, you must be a current undergraduate student at a university in the United States or High School student that will attend university.
The Walter Morales Scholarship will be awarded to the winner of an essay competition. A single winner will be chosen based on writing a unique essay of less than 1000 words that addresses and answers the following:
“Think about the unique challenges that face urban schools. Urban schools are marked by higher concentrations of poverty, greater racial and ethnic diversity, larger concentrations of immigrant populations, language diversity, and more frequent rates of student mobility.
Discuss these and/or other factors that are challenges for urban schools and how you would improve the urban education system.“
One time award of $5,000
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is February 15, 2022.
The winner for the scholarship will be announced March 15, 2022.
Applicant should email their response to the essay question:
